WHAT ARE SWOLLEN FEET?

 Swollen feet are a common problem that can affect anyone. It is not a disease in and of itself, but rather a symptom of a more significant problem. This problem usually occurs when fluid accumulates in the tissues, causing swelling known as oedema.

This can happen for a variety of reasons, including being overweight, standing or sitting for long periods, getting older, pregnancy, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), nutritional deficiencies, a lack of physical activity, and poor blood circulation.

Swelling in your feet can be caused by a leg, ankle, foot injury or surgery.

Diabetes, heart disease, liver and kidney disease, and pregnant women are much more vulnerable to this problem.

Consult your doctor if the swelling is painful or occurs frequently. It could be a sign of heart, kidney, or liver problems that require immediate attention.



Hydrotherapy in contrast.

This type of hydrotherapy, which involves both cold and warm water, is extremely effective at reducing foot swelling. Warm water improves circulation, while cold water reduces swelling and inflammation.


Fill two 2-foot tubs with cold and warm water, respectively.

You can also chew raw ginger slices or drink 2 to 3 cups of ginger tea.


LEMON WATER.

Drinking lemon water aids in the removal of toxins and excess fluid from the body, which can decrease swelling in the feet and other parts of the body caused by water retention. It also helps to keep the body hydrated and has anti-inflammatory properties.

In a cup of warm water, combine 2 tablespoons of lemon juice.

Add a drizzle of raw honey to taste.

Drink this lemon water several times per day.


APPLE CIDER VINEGAR.

Apple cider vinegar can also help with foot swelling. Its high potassium content aids in the reduction of fluid retention, which is a common cause of foot swelling.


Combine equal parts warm water and unfiltered raw apple cider vinegar. Soak a towel in the solution, wring it out, and then wrap it around your swollen feet. Do this for 10 minutes several times per day.
